Plastic surgery procedures are predominantly performed on females who accounted for 86.5 percent of all operations performed in 2019. They also accounted for a similar swathe of all nonsurgical cosmetic procedures carried out that year at 87.2 percent.
Most popular procedures
Worldwide the top 5 surgical procedures for women are: breast augmentation, liposuction, nose reshaping, eyelid surgery, and the tummy tuck.
Artificial six-pack
For men a procedure called abdominal etching uses a new liposuction technique to create a six pack appearance. Essentially, plastic surgeons very precisely suction fat from the abdomen’s superficial and deep layers to accentuate a patient’s natural abdominal lines. Results can be extra-defined or more smooth and round, depending on preference.
